LE PILATES

The Pilates method is invited to the French International School of Bahrain.
Congratulations to our 1st year students in the middle of a discovery lesson.
In addition to being an innovative activity in PE, Pilates will allow students, thanks to its principles, to become aware of their body and to solicit their deep muscles in order to respond to learning field n°5: performing a physical activity to develop resources and maintain themselves.
PILATES: A SYMBIOSIS BETWEEN BODY AND MIND

-Breathing
In Pilates, you must constantly enter the belly and contract the pelvic floor muscles (including the perineum and sphincters)
-Concentration
When you do a Pilates session, you need to be focused on it. You need to visualize your body during movements and only think about exercises.
-Centering
The center, named powerhouse by Joseph Pilates is the most important concept of the method. It symbolizes the “core” of the body, and it is from it that everything starts. It is located around the waist, in an area that goes from the pelvis to the bottom of the ribs.
-Control
Each exercise is an invitation to coordinate the movement of the body with the mind and breath.
-Precision
Pilates improves your body’s alignment. Seek maximum quality in the way of performing the exercises, conditioned by a small number of repetitions of each movement.
-Fluidity
As the practice progresses, you will be able to chain the exercises one after the other, without stopping, like a choreography. They are carried out in a well-defined order, with precise transitions between them.
