Since October, the school’s G1 and G2 students have had the chance to participate in an innovative project : the implementation of philosophical workshops. At the rate of thirty minutes with half-groups each week, the Philosophy teacher of the high school came to animate workshops during which the students were able to work on various subjects in order to be more exposed to the French language, but also and above all, to allow them to to express themselves, to put words on what they feel.
Over the course of the sessions, the students learned to interact with their peers, to question their emotions, to exchange points of view. Many themes were discussed, such as: how to express anger without hurting yourself and others? Can we be afraid of something that doesn’t exist? What is happiness? Do tears only express sadness?
After several months, we can see that the students all gladly participate in these sessions, even the more discreet students at the beginning. The students are always enthusiastic and delighted to participate in the philosophy workshops, and progress has been seen in the exchanges.
